CLOSER Neuropsychology Lab
Cognition, Lasting Outcomes, Symptom Evaluation & Rehabilitation
Welcome!

Established in 2025 at York University, the CLOSER Neuropsychology Lab aims to understand and improve outcomes of individuals with different conditions which affect thinking skills, or cognition. These include individuals who have been diagnosed with psychiatric and neurological disorders, including schizophrenia, psychosis spectrum, functional neurological (and cognitive) disorder, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia-related conditions.

Our methodologies include cognitive assessment, questionnaires, experimental designs, longitudinal studies, neuroimaging, intervention, and innovative rehabilitation strategies. Our goal is to understand cognitive function, reduce symptoms, and support long-term recovery and quality of life across the adult lifespan. The research is person-centered and focused on bringing us closer to recovery, by closing the gap between basic science, assessment, and rehabilitation.
